Home Parish: St. Joseph the Worker
I am the son of Agustin and Luz Alatorre. I grew up in Lake Station, Indiana, and I am the “middle” of triplets.
What draws me to the priesthood is the desire to bring people, especially the youth, closer to Christ. I desire to be an instrument of God to bring young people closer and to encounter God’s love and mercy.
My parents are my first role models, as it is their hard work and support that continues to encourage me in everything I do. Mother Teresa, as well as the Missionaries of Charities, are also role models through their services. In our diocese, the Missionaries of Charity have been a significant support in my vocation process.
My favorite scripture passage is from Romans 12:4-5 which states: “For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.”
