Steven Caraher

Theology III

School: Sacred Heart Seminary
Home Parish: St. Thomas More

I was raised in Munster by two loving Catholic parents: Margaret, an elementary music teacher, and PJ a software engineer. I am the older of 4 siblings: Bridget, a junior in the Kelley School of Business at Bloomington, Richard a freshmen at IU Bloomington studying computer science, and Mark a sophomore at Munster High School.

Three aspects that have drawn me to discern a priestly vocation are the joy I have witnessed in so many priests, the peace I have experienced considering a potential call to the priesthood , and the beauty of the sacraments.

My role models are my parents, who have and continue to model unconditional love, Fr. Michael Yadron, pastor at St. Thomas More who has been a spiritual father to me and Fr. Patrick Hyde and Fr. Joseph Minuth, campus ministers at IU Bloomington, who have such zeal for the conversion of souls and joy only possible in Christ.

My favorite scripture passage: Rev 12:1, “a great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.”
